Update

Oh hey, look. I'm still alive. Heh. So I'm back from the BRATs journalist camp. Despite being a Penang Workshop, Penangites are the minority. Most are from KL, with a few from Sarawak, Seremban and Terengganu as well. So, I went into this camp to find out more about journalism and to see if that's a path I want to take. Uh... I'm still not sure. Haha. From the four days in Sunway Hotel, I found out that there's so much more to this than meets the eye and I still have a bunch of things to learn. But one great thing from this was that I've learnt a bunch of new games and riddles to drive the rest of you nuts. I also gained a ton of new friends -Hi sayangs! XD- and I have to start tracking down your blogs and listing them here soon.

Oh, and I'm sick of New World Park food court, as I worked til the wee hours of the morning writing an article about that place. Earrgh. For you guys who saw the paper last Monday and read all about us being Steven Spielberg, believe me, it was as fun as it was stressful. We were the first batch that they gave so many assignments to take care of so the last night was quite hectic. Imagine previous seasons of American Idol where they had to do group singing during Hollywood week. Imagine all those people both laughing and yelling at one another throughout the night. Imagine those groups that seeked out every corner of the hotel for a quiet place to work. Yeah. It was just like that. Sure, we have been told to not stress ourselves out and have fun, but naturally, we couldn't help it. But we still managed to put together decent pieces of work. So, great job to all of us. And it wasn't all stress. There were a lot of fun moments too, especially the games and riddles (I still can't figure out a couple of them. yeeesh.) we played with the four seniors and well, gossiping with my roomies.
All in all, gotta love BRATs and after reading about them in the papers every now and then, it's really great to be finally one of them.

I initially wanted to talk about Choral Speaking, but I guess that's pretty much old news by now. And other bloggers like Carmen and Renee have already mentioned it and posted pictures -extensively-. Also, I already wrote about it for the school magazine, so all I wanted to say had been said.

Let me just add this little bit more. Choral speaking had always been a CGL forte. We stepped into it this year with a lot to live up to. And thank goodness we kept up the tradition of victory. Yes, we didn't win champion of the state, but hey, second place isn't bad at all (Where's our money by the way? XD). In fact, as we know, even the judges thought we were really good (cough).

Right after our performance, rumours actually circulated that I was in tears because we were apparently so lousy. Please let me know who started that rumour so I can slice their heads off. And I've watched enough CSI episodes to get away with it too. Just kidding. Heh. But for the record, I did not cry and I was certainly not pissed with you lot. Why would I be? Siao. Pn Gan said that performance (finally) gave her goosebumps, so yeah, we were really good that day. Maybe we didn't feel it was so because we were too jaded thanks to so many practices already. XD

And well, I won Best Conductor. Hahaha. When my name was announced and I went up to get the trophy, looking at the crowd from the stage was one of the best sights ever. What I saw was you guys, screaming and shouting and cheering your heads off. And let me tell you, your support made it feel like the ultimate victory. As a matter of fact, I guess it was. :)
Ah, won't say no more here. Just read the school magazine for all the heart-warming details. Pffftt...

Happy Holidays. Or what's left of it that is...
